This painting is music, Vanessa recently sold an artwork and the buyer received it then responded with a piece of music he created inspired by the artwork. That piece of music then inspired Vanessa to create this artwork. You'd need to watch the last 30s of the video of it being made to really get it.

When Vanessa recently looked up a Kandinsky documentary on his synesthesia and music he was able to identify instruments to their colors, she felt like music is so saturated with synthetic sounds she's not there yet.. although this piece was quite clear, the beat are dark blue spots floating high up in the air, the higher piano keys are pink stairs and the lower piano are light blue floating sheets of water.
