In his series 'Animal Soul / Vegetable Mind' artist Skee Goedhart explores the idea that throughout history, human beings have formed relationships (alliances) with various members of the Vegetable Kingdom. These relationships, whether using plants for food, medicine, enjoyment or as vehicles of transcendence, are beneficial both ways. While we may benefit in any number of ways, the plant also benefits as our enthusiasm allows for the perpetuation and cultivation of the species.
