BIRDS EYE VIEW
Vanessa Stefanova
Created in 2021.
Vanessa hadn't made a birds eye view painting since she was little so she decided she need one in her portfolio. At first Vanessa started painting the painting as a giant bird in the desert cages in by arrows, she wanted the spots to be seeping off the bird into the desert. Instead Vanessa ended up painting, what she see's as, a bird in the sky and we're viewing the cage from the birds view (just above it) the spots ended up curving as it's own cage upward to the top and downward at the bottom, so if you saw it on the side view the cage of spots would be an S shape.
The painting reminds Vanessa of how people perceive lockdown (currently in a massive one), in the cage or being the cage? Vanessa chose to use lockdown to her advantage and whip out an artwork a day, she's not in the cage in this case. It's up to the viewer to decide how they interpret this painting.
