Travels to foreign lands that are rich in culture and history, opens up one’s mind and eyes and presents new opportunities for growth. Cenote Medicine is a response to my experience in Cancun and exposure to the rich culture, architecture and belief system of this land. I was intrigued by view of the coastlines from the air as well as walking among the ruins. Mesmerized by the stories and hearing about the rituals from the natives. The vibrant colours of the surrounding nature, visiting the Cenotes and the richness of the culture, all had an impact on me had my creative juices moving, resulting in the paintings of this series.
