COME HOME
Linda Mitchell
Created 2016. Mixed media on fabric.
Quilts tell stories, as do these pieces that originate from remnants of my life. Layered with strong linear narratives, they reference wall-hanging tapestries and traditional storytelling. As such, they tell the story of particular phrases I heard as a child, which powerfully impressed me at the time and still resonate. This piece explores the concept of home and it's pull on one's psyche. It features an image of a little house chasing a big bull- trying to make it come home. This was created at her studio at the Goat Farm Arts Center.
