A woman waits on the art installation Connection Station, by Al Boehnlein, at the Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert in 2018. Once a year, seventy thousand people gather in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert to create Burning Man, a temporary metropolis dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance.
