This photograph was taken on a camping trip in Cherry Springs, PA: the darkest skies of the northeastern region in the US. The campgrounds are vast and beautiful, and the sky is typically clear enough to see the Milky Way. On this particular camping trip it was rainy, and the combination of the dark, open space, rain-laden trees, and the way the light hit the mist just enough inspired Natalie to photograph this field.
