I created this piece to symbolize the deep love that a parent has for their child. This love touches the very core of a parent’s heart and soul. A parent's love for their child is unconditional. In First Born, the baby is held close in the figure’s arms that are wrapped entirely around the baby. The baby holds on, trusting and feeling the unadulterated love. The canted head is leaning in and touching the baby’s head in adoration. The experience is pure.
