Created in 2019. This digital drawing is a part of a series that expresses the artist’s experience of being a woman. As women we project an ideal version of ourselves to others. This ideal is a fantasy rooted in the individual’s ego, as well as society’s expectations of being classically feminine. This illusion is simultaneously alluring and mesmerizing, yet fails to convince others. The individual’s true character always reveals itself. In this drawing, the subject is unaware of her shadow self, or unconscious mind lurking behind her and controlling her reality.
