Vanessa made this painting reminiscent of time when she disappears in terms of the internet. When Vanessa was younger she liked to disable her personal social media accounts over the summers, forcing people to actually interact with her like they would in the early 2000’s, via mobile. When they would, the time was always more respected. Vanessa liked that no one would know what she's up to unless they see her and ask, somewhat mysterious or a surprise.

So, Vanessa painted the cactus (her cactuses represent human) in all the colours, because Vanessa's hiatuses are always the most fun, also because when someone posts more colourful posts it reflects their state of mind. You don’t know what’s making this cactus rainbow, but you can see it is.
