HUNTING ISLAND
Bronwen Hazlett
Created 2012
The artist calls these images, Photographic Canvas Collages. They are one-of-a-kind photographic canvas prints stretched on painting stretcher bars. First she prints the images on canvas, cuts what she want to use for a final image, and then sews the pieces back together with an industrial sewing machine. This process allows her to to create one image that expresses a visual moment. She wants to remember these moments, like staring at a bonfire or watching fish swim. Moments change and evolved quickly so she documents them and recreates her version from memory.
