LEMONS WITH BLUE AND WHITE POTTERY AND LYSOL, SPRING 2020

Created in 2020
I was extremely proud to have my "Lemons with Blue and White Pottery and Lysol" selected for the virtual group exhibition, the "Garzoni Challenge" put on by the Medici Archive Project and Advancing Women Artists in partnership with the Uffizi Galleries. The composition of my painting here is related to Garzoni’s varied still life setups as well: my late grandmother's heirloom blue and white Chinese bowl, a blue French linen napkin from my first trip to Paris with my husband, Carrera marble from Italy, California lemons from a pandemic Instacart order circa Covid19, and an expired old Lysol can I found under my kitchen sink of some indeterminate global origin.
