Abstract is where the artist feels at home, as it allows her to delve deeper into the themes, words, and emotions she aims to express. When starting a painting, Abbott may have colors and/or shapes in mind, but ultimately the piece itself tells her where to go while allowing emotions, surroundings and music to help guide her through the process.
