This is a painting Vanessa calls “Notified”, it was her phone lock screen and shows the notifications falling. In Australia from 2019-2020 Vanessa noticed that lighting up my phone to see the notifications was often met with seeing a scrollworthy list of updates from the news about the current disaster. Perhaps Aussies have been desensitized to the amount of deaths that casually pop up on our screens.
