RAINDROPS OF GOLD
Linda Lieffers
Created 2019
Linda was inspired by Vancouver, where both of her daughters reside. She wanted to convey the city’s notorious rain and misty haze that is known to encapsulate the city in the winter. By pushing herself out of her comfort zone and trying an unfamiliar painting technique, she says she had a lot of fun creating a “trickling/water droplet" effect. As her backyard is home to numerous types of birds, she happened to find a few large feathers on the ground one day. After cleaning the feathers and dipping them in paint, Linda developed the squiggling lines & runoff effect.
