Having been born after the creation of the internet and having grown up through the digital revolution, Dean’s early paintings investigated the paradoxic impact digital technologies were having on the world’s current generation. These paintings brought into question the adverse effects these digital worlds were having on modes connectivity and socialization and explored the role of painting in a world of digital addiction and short attention spans.
