This piece was inspired by watching snowstorms from my window at night. The street lights forming pockets of gold in the squall. To me it is one of the most beautiful things. I focused on movement and colour, allowing bold, distinct brush marks to stand in the place of careful blending. Impressionism or pointillism zoomed in. A reduction of painting to its most fundamental elements - pigment applied to surface.
