An Unruly Conversation is a mixed media painting of a man having a conversation he is not meant to be having. The images are collected from an algorithm that is used to read lips. This technology has taken a language that for the most part is solely verbal and has made it purely visual. My painting captures a moment in its reading where the system confuses the phrase “I love you” with “olive juice”. The system knows the person did not say ‘olive juice’ because it doesn't make sense in the sentence structure so it's backtracking to fix its mistake.
