Wanda Coleman portable Spoken word Mural: Created for efforts by Youth Build and Venice Community Housing Corporation, this mural of Los Angeles poet Wanda Coleman was created as a street backdrop for spoken word and poetry performance. The work continues to appear in street festivals and community gatherings. A pilot piece of the Arts Community Collective, a group of artists and activists that create cultural assets calling attention to the long history of the diverse communities that have contributed to the great cultural wealth of Venice Beach and greater Los Angeles and that now face displacement through gentrification.
